Speed Hook..

Hey all, I recently got a speed hook, but can't find any decent patterns.. I looked on Lion Brand.. but? It doesn't seem to let you browse by hook.. which I guess makes sense.
Anyway.. I'm just looking for an blanket/throw/afghan.. which ever. I plan to use plain old worsted weight yarn.
Thanx in advance :)

Urgh. I've never heard of that. What's a speed hook?

I believe it's one of those ridiculously huge hooks. Q... S... Depends on the brand what letter they assign it.

Ah! I have a couple of good afghan patterns for a Q hook. They work really well for patterns that call for multiple strands to be worked simultaneously.

Second the multiple strands, otherwise it ends up looking like fishnet.

It's Lion Brand "s" ..You can look it up on their site.

IIRC a "speed hook" is Lion Brand's FANCY name for a Q or an S hook. That may help a little bit.

If you look back a little on my posts, I got four colors of Caron Simply Soft and I just held them together and did a SC and did a whole huge blanket. I really like it - It probably weighs 10 lbs though!

What about one of these books? You could probably check it out from a library...

Quick Crochet Huge Hooks

Big Hook Crochet

Quick & Easy Q-Hook Afghans

I'm currently working on Quick Tasseled Crochet Throw by LB. I really like it, although I would make it wider if I were to do it again. I bet you could get similar results by making it with more yarn.

Neat!

I think I saw the Big Hook Crochet in the Crafters Choice book, but for whatever reason, I didn't order it.

as far as one of those huge hooks, i wouldnt use regular worsted weight yarn to make a blanket or whatever. (unless you plan on holding a few together). but they are super fun!
