WIPS et al.

WIPs:
1. the scarf for my sweetie: Vanna's Choice in grape-purple
2. the Beautiful Shells Blanket: stashbuster, in assorted colors of worsted acrylic
3. the Buttoned Triangle Neckwarmer: two strands of DK-weight acrylic--one light gray, one light purple. Using an L hook to start with just to see how it comes out. If I don't like it, I might frog it and start again.

upcoming/planned projects:
1. the matching hat for my sweetie
2. a baby toddler blankie (pattern not yet selected; I need the dimensions of the kid's bed/crib/whatever; but this is the one for which I asked for reccies for cotton yarn. It will be blue).
3. openwork shawl from Lion Brand--one of their kits. I've downloaded the pattern and the yarn (Shawl-in-a-Ball, in shades of blue) is on its way.

What are YOU up to?

The Shells Blanket sounds like it's going to be absolutely gorgeous when it's done!

WIPS:
1. Pumpkin container thing.
2. Super secret blanket for my dad's car club. This one is fun because it's my first crochet color work project, and I modeled my chart after his car club's old plaque.

FOs:
1. A ghost for my crafting swap spoilee.

Re: what are you up to

Those mermaid tail blankets are cool. I keep on thinking they would be pretty impractical, though, what with having to get in and out of them like a sleeping-bag.

Mmm, I love Vanna's Choice. It's got a nice weight without being too soft or too stiff.

I'm currently working on a set of blankets to donate to the local NICU at our hospital. :D

Your project list sounds like fun! I've never made a neckwarmer before, but it sounds lovely! I'm always in search of something to keep my neck warm, even in the summer.

There are lots of patterns for neckwarmers and cowls on Ravelry.

I'm making dragon-scale gauntlets! I haven't crocheted for a while but it's a lot easier on the second (left-hand) mitt. I want to kludge the pattern though to get the scales to look the same for the right hand, lying flat like the left-hand mitt ones. Experiment time!

Sure, I can block the right-hand mitt flat (the scales curl) but I'd rather they look the same.

Oh, and shawl-in-a-ball is on my want list. It looks gorgeous. Not that I've unpacked most of my stash yet...

I wondered if you'd like them, and I was going to tell you. I might make another pair with mods (you only need 5 dcs for each half-scale, not 6) and a kludge to get the right-hand-mitt scales to look as nice as the left-hand ones. If I do, I'll list all the changes on my project.

As you know I am fully entrenched in secretive Christmas Knittin Mode. It is very secretive. There is one crocheted item of my design and it is purple. *Wiggling in my chair*

Currently working on a bunch of necklace-cords for pendants I'm intending to contribute to a charity craft market (Creating A Welcome) happening mid-November. I'm also working on a spiral-scrubbie, though I'm not sure whether I will keep it for myself or give it to the market; it's my first attempt at this pattern, so I consider it an experiment.
