planning for my annual trip to see Older Sister
In a couple of weeks I'll get on a plane to go see Older Sister, BIL, and Oldest Nephew. Who, off-topic, is now voting age and hearing back from colleges he applied to. Eep!
However, the real topic for today is what projects to take along for crocheting on the plane and during the week I'm visiting. I've got two current WIPs--the Beautiful Shells blanket and the Granny Corner blanket. Both are new patterns for me, are slightly complicated, and involve frequent color changes, so they aren't the best things to carry around and work on in the cramped space of an airline seat or while in company (because of requiring concentration). So this is what I'm thinking:
Take patterns, yarn and hooks for a number of smaller projects, plus one larger project, none of them being too complicated but also not brain-dead easy because that would cause me to lose interest completely. So...
For the larger project: a scarf with, for instance, some cabling.
For smaller ones: dishcloths, hats, mittens and stuff like that.
Do you have favorite small/simple patterns? I'd love to hear about them.
